Favorite verse: John 10:10
God wants his best for us....pressed down, running over....I just have to get out of my own way.
Favorite person:
David: A man who truly loved God, but was flawed. He constantly battled himself, made some seriously bad choices, God saw thru to his core and still loved him because of his heart. I relate because as much as I want to be the man God has called me to be, seems like some days its a battle fought violently from within.
Salvation:
Saved at the age of 10 under my pastor Ervel Jones. I realized very plainly that I did not have a relationship with God no matter that my Dad was a Deacon, my Mom played the piano, and there was a history of pastors in my immediate family. I accepted Him and began this lifelong journey of learning more about not only who He is, but who I am in Him.
Family:
Happily married to my beautiful bride of 32 years, Kimberly, without whom very little I am able to do would be possible. Two daughters, (Melanie and Erin) Three grandchildren (Hayden, Isaac, and Harper). Very blessed.
Fun fact:
Love the Pittsburgh Steelers, fishing (sometimes competitively) hunting, (basically anything that tastes good) and most anything sports related. I have a very diverse appreciation for musical styles, and love riding motorcycles (although currently without one).
Heart for PHBC:
A place where everyone (that means everyone) feels like they are not only welcome but part of something bigger. A diverse place where God is glorified, His word is the foundation in all we do, Christ's life and example is taught, and relationships are built between believers. Discipleship, encouragement, and engagement are key.
