Favorite Bible Verses: Psalm 139
One of my favorite passages in the Bible is Psalm 139. I came across this when I was in high school doing a research paper. It really stuck with me because I was a shy kid in school and never really let people in except for a few close friends. This scripture really spoke to me as God knows us better than we know ourselves. He knew before we were even formed in the womb and as any parent should and does loves us for who we are. This should give anyone comfort because he accepts us and loves us not matter what. I forget that sometimes and this passage reminds me that he is always here.
Favorite Person in the Bible:
I have several but if I had to choose one it would have to be David. He was a man after Gods own heart, but he was very flawed. He had his shortcomings (he was human after all) and did some terrible things, but God never forsake him. It helps to remind us that no matter how bad we are or what we have done God will forgive us. David is a prime example of how you can love God so much and still make mistakes yet can still be forgiven.
Salvation:
My story is a little long, but I will make it brief. I grew up in church thanks to my grandparents but when my grandmother passed away I did not go again until I was a teenager. In middle school to be accurate. I started to go to a church with some friends from school because the youth program was pretty good. When I was sitting in the pew on a Sunday morning and the age of 15 God opened my eyes. I had never not believed in God, but I was leading a lie and he showed me this day. I was saved and knew where I was going. But unfortunately, I strayed as I got a little older. Never far from God because he was always talking to me, I just chose to ignore him. I am a prime example of God never giving up because he never gave up on me. He ran after me, and I am so glad he did! So, if you ever want to know my full story ask, I am not ashamed and will gladly tell.
Family:
I married the love of my life April twice! If you ever want to know the story, just ask. We have two wonderful boys (sometimes). Hunter and Phillip and a beautiful daughter Autumn (who likes me sometimes)!
Fun Fact(s) about me:
I am not a cat person but because of my wonderful wife and daughter we have way too many! I am a big movie buff. My wife says my head is full of useless knowledge because I can remember things about movies and tv shows from years ago. I am also a little bit of a nerd and I like Star Wars and Marvel way too much.
Heart for PHBC:
When we first came to Peace Haven it just felt like home. I have never felt so much love and a welcoming atmosphere before. I love coming to church and teaching when we don’t forget whose week it is lol! Also just having a place that everyone is welcome no matter what is a blessing. I feel at home and I promise you will too!
